Yesssss...I haven't been around. I have been having an identity crisis, but that's not really the point. So, I bring you some sketches of various costumes, clothing, etc, as I'm trying to transfer to costume design.

From left to right, random tailcoats (skinny guys from the 19th century are sexy, theoretical design for my red dress, what I hoped to make from some white satin and maroon taffeta I had lying around and then I ran out of fabric. : (
Random dress I did during Project Runway, random 60s inspired dress I did during project runway, and practicing the 1920s silhouette. I wanted to do do a 1920s dress based on Roxas, but then I found out my idea was stolen by the designer for Thoroughly Modern Millie. :: sighs ::

So, instead, I got addicted to Tsubasa and designed clothes for Roxas himself. So totally stolen from Syaoran,, at least in silhouette.
Harry Potter 7 was AMAZING. That's all I'm going to say about it, but I'm seriously considering drawing fanart of my favorite pairings. Did little sketches, to see if I could get the characters close.

Snape still looks "too nice" but he's down in my Book of Lurve, so there's no way I could draw him ugly. I know, I'm shallow. Be thankful he's at all recognizable.

From top, clockwise: Snape, Draco, Harry, Ron, Hermione.

I've been working my way through the Harry Potter books, preparing for book 7. Yup, I know I'm sad and pathetic, but fandoms make me happy. Anyway, read books 2 and 3 yesterday and was reminded of just how much I like Lupin. He was never as pretty in the movie as he was in my head, so I decided to draw him. He didn't turn out anything like he was supposed to, so I tried Sirius instead, who turned out even worse. His head is squoogly.

That's all. I may try again later with cool clothes (I love the HP costume design) or different characters or something else all together. Lupin looks like every other one of my characters, but that's because David Tennant has left me with a sideburn fetish.

I've lost my sketchbook...

Not much for you today as I've misplaced my sketchbook. It's been missing for about a week (now that I think about it) and I can't for the life of me think of where it could be. Here's some very bad brief sketches I did today and some old Kingdom Hearts fanart, because that's practically all I draw fanart for.

Fanart first.

Quick Demyx doodle because Demyx is amazing. I know everything is off, it was a doodle. I had a slightly better (and slightly more gay looking) drawing in my sketchbook and I'll scan it for you if I ever find it.

Old, old drawing of Roxas that I dug up. I did it probably when the game first came out and I'd just seen the bit with him in the Organization coat for the first time. That makes it...about a year and three months old. Anyway, I love Roxas still, but suck at drawing him. I tried again out of boredom and this is what i came up with:

Eyes are wonky. I grew out of using rulers years ago and now find myself needing them again for symmetry. :: shrugs ::

Sketch of Rys, a character that's sort of a version of Lynx, but I will never get to use him because Stephen is pissed at me. Oh, well. He and Serene (version of Starr) can exist in my head, just like all my other characters.
Speaking of which, Jiao!

I love Jiao, mostly because he's a fun character, drastically out of his mind, and he represents a lot to me. I like this style quite of drawing quite a bit. Too bad I can only do it inconsistently.

That's it for now. Eventually I'll scan a lot of maps and clothing designs that I dug up, just to prove to the world how anal I can really be. And some more doodles should I ever find my sketchbook.

Updated the Canon software and installed it on my MacBook Pro. My scanner works a lot better when I keep it up to date. >.> Bad llama.

One sketch and two in progresses cgs beneath the cut.

Drawn in 251 on Tuesday and Thursday instead of paying attention. Started after talking with Dannel about steampunk and wasting wayyyyyyyyyy to much time staring at Victorian clothing. Not really steampunk at all...but yeah, me likes. Once again, I know nothing of anatomy.

Current project, which the unfortunate size of which keeps crashing my computers. Shrunk the resolution, which helped, but there's still way too many layers. This is an old screenshot so colors and things have changed.

OLD project, which I never finished. Last semester, mostly. I attempted to do a waterfall and was unhappy with it. I still aspire to finish it and god damn post it on my DA account.

May scan some more stuff this weekend if the mood strikes me and if I'm looking for some excuse to avoid homework.

Updating my journal because I don't feel like typing up my 251.

Love this one, did it in Venice. Inspired by one of Inara's dresses in Firefly (that woman can pull off red and gold like no one's business). I want to make it eventually, probably out of a gold duponi silk.

Another Venice sketch, unfinished. That pattern is a bitch. Venice totally sucked to draw in as none of the museums had benches. I was thinking about Carnivale (which was so totally last week, damnit) and the awesome cloaks you can buy. They were (once again) way too expensive for me, but I'll probably end up making one when I make cloaks for Rob, Yang, and Dannel.

This one's just cute. The scan is bigger than the actual size of the drawing - it's actually a tiny little thing in my sketchbook. Done with .3 lead.

I'm totally posting old sketches. Did this in Japan. Ed is totally sexy with his hair down. And gripping something in his teeth...mmm. Hah.

Dark Jak, done last semester. Colored in a total of like 30 minutes, which is why it mildly sucks. Still, Jak and Daxter, yo.

Lastly, Chrestomanci, aka Christopher Chant. Those books are fucking awesome. Not just regular awesome, but fucking awesome. Of course, I'm prejudiced, but Chrestomanci is smexy. : ) Dressing gown and sarcasm!

That's all I've got scanned for now. I may be posting character designs for Sevenstar Duet, if Kristin doesn't mind. Still have to finish the roughs and then spend time with Kristin finalizing the design.
(Originally posted in EatenbyFangirls)

Back from Venice, hi ho.

More pictures beneath the cut, or you can just see the full album here (Photobucket).

Watched several moves upon my jetlaged return, including The Devil Wears Prada, which sucked, except for the Harry Potter plotline, The Last Kiss, which sucked as well, and A Scanner Darkly, which did not. Also, Keanu Reeves is more attractive with the equivalent of being photoshoped than he is in real life. Movies on the plane watched included Little Miss Sunshine (love), The Queen (fab), and The Illusionist (Edward Norton can have my babies).

Also, my family spent way too much time in Venice re-watching Firefly. We are so cultured.

The remaining week before school starts again (boo) shall be spent on an illegal WoW server and making a very large, very maroon Tudor dress. Because I can. I will take pictures of the process, because I'm sure you're all fascinated by what the hell a placket is.

Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. Didn't get anything for Christmas; Venice was our Christmas. Didn't get anything from Venice, though, either. Not even a mask. Too expensive.

Speaking of masks...have a store-front picture. Those costumes are upward 2000 euros each. Euros. Hence why I am making a monochromic historical dress instead of wearing one I bought. It is Tudor, because there are absolutely no good 1700s patterns available commercially. The closest one is a Simplicity deal that's made to look like Elizabeth Swan. Buggers. I'll just make a pirate coat instead of a dinner jacket then, shall I?

Pigeons in St. Mark's square. It has been interfering with my classes. I did three physics assignments today tho, booyah. Making up from when I was sick. I'm still making up crap from when I was sick. Tres annoying. Blame Amy for not letting me sleep.

Speaking of which, I should go to bed.

This picture is so complicated. I put so many hours into it. I love it. It makes me smile. Too big for my craptastic little scanner tho, this is only about 3/4 of it...scanner cut off the top. I never want to draw that ribbon pattern again.

Jiao, being strange. Only one more left in the series. I am psyched. Then I can finally stop reading these things. Only one in every three is any good. This being said, Phantom was surprisingly good. Terry Goodkind's stupid moral superiority breaks down in it, though, so the book as a piece of political commentary is total crap. Not that I mind. It's good fantasy, complete with heads on pikes and such. Also, only one rape scene. I'm so proud of him. Normally his books are thinly disguised dominatrix pornography. Mord Sith for the win.

What the hell is Cass reading? She's not so sure herself, but it's definitely not King Lear like she's supposed to be reading.
